These things are HUGE!

To be completely honest, I have no immediate use for these sockets. I initially needed Starks 1-5/8 to 3" set with a ratchet, which I also purchased simultaneously with these. However, I thought to myself, "Self?" and I responded because I knew it was me... and I said, these are too cool to pass up. The bigger justification is that if, by any chance, I ever need a socket this large, the odds are that I won't be able to conveniently pick one up at the local parts store. I sincerely hope I never need this set, but in the event that my nuts get that big, at least I'll have the right tool for the job.

The 4" socket on the right is a substantial 18 pounds of Chrome Moly. I extensively searched for large sockets, and this set offered the best price, beating competitors by a factor of 3-6 times. The case they come in is metal with metal handles, though it's a bit flimsy for such heavy sockets. However, I suppose if they had to cut corners somewhere, I'm glad it was in the carrying case.

Features

  • Our innovative 6-point flank drive holds onto fasteners and prevents any rounding off corners. This means your fasteners are protected and so are your sockets
  • Unique design grips the flat sides of fasteners rather than the corners to offer security and prevent stripping/ rounding off of bolts
  • High-contrast visibility permanent laser etched size markings are easy-to-read in low light for easy retrieval & identification
  • Wide range of socket sizes to fit multiple applications including nine common SAE socket sizes (1", 1-1/8", 1-1/4", 1-3/8", 1-1/2", 1-5/8", 1-3/4", 1-7/8" and 2" inch)
  • Stay organized with heavy-duty metal case for safe keeping when not in use
