I had concrete professionals come to cut out a new bathroom rough-in in my basement, which cost $1100 for everything, including putting in new concrete. At the last minute, we decided to add a wet bar, requiring the removal of a 2.5x2.5 area. While it probably would have cost around $300 to hire someone for the job or $75 to rent a jackhammer for a day, I opted to purchase one for $100, owning it for future use. Renting a jackhammer would have expedited the job 3-4 times faster, but working alone, the manageable handling of this tool allowed me to also handle a shop vac and control dust effectively—something challenging with a larger jackhammer.

Despite the case arriving broken on the inside, as seen in someone else's picture, I don't mind because the machine itself is performing as advertised and works great! If you have a relatively small project, this jackhammer is perfect. It's essential to note that it's not commercial-grade but ideal for tasks like a bathroom or wet bar rough-in.

In hindsight, I wished I had saved that $1k and considered this option before adding the wet bar. Again, it's crucial to emphasize that this jackhammer is not commercial-grade but is perfect for smaller projects like a bathroom or wet bar rough-in.

For my specific use, I was dealing with a 2.5x2.5 area, not a perfect square, going through a 4-5" poured concrete basement slab in a house built in 2015 in the Midwest. I hope this information helps ease any concerns because I was initially nervous but always remember that if something does go wrong, CALL Ihubdeal! They will assist you every time, 100% of the time, and that's what convinced me. I'm glad I made the purchase.

Worked effectively to break up basement concrete approximately 6 inches thick. I began in an area with cracks, making it easier to proceed. In sections without cracks, chip away gradually without attempting to dig the tip deep all the way. It's important to understand the limits of this affordable tool. Rental costs are currently around 80-100 dollars, so this purchase was definitely worthwhile. There's no need to rush the job; you can do it at your own pace. When mine arrived, all the oil had leaked out, but I managed to find some SAE 30 oil, and it worked without any issues. I consistently checked the oil sight glass but never had to add oil during my project.

As many have mentioned, it's an excellent demolition hammer for the price, and you can't go wrong. The personal protective equipment (PPE) that comes with it is entertaining for kids to play with. It could work in a pinch if you have no other safety gear, I suppose.
