This is my first time using a pool cover and reel, so I don’t have any other reference point to compare it to. After conducting extensive research, I found that this product provides good value for its cost, especially since I didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on a high-end reel. Although the instructions weren’t terrific, I was able to figure it out without much difficulty. I had to cut the tubing and drill my own holes to make it fit my pool size, but it was worth it. The straps that came with the product didn’t seem sufficient, so I purchased a separate set and modified them to accommodate the shape of my pool. Now that I have it set up and installed, it is easy to use and works as expected. I’m curious to see how long the quality holds up and how many seasons I get out of it, which hopefully will be more than a few.

Functions excellently and appears to be highly durable. My only desire is for the straps to have a grommet to secure them to the cover. Unfortunately, none of the reels come with grommets for this purpose (I checked).

My husband and I are new pool owners and have been struggling with pool maintenance. We purchased a solar cover for our pool, but removing it was a huge task and we couldn’t get a good system down. We were fed up with having to jump into the pool to get the cover back on properly. We decided to take a chance on this reel, and it has been a huge help. It has made removing and re-covering the pool a breeze. Although it’s still a two-person job, we can now uncover and recover the pool in less than 5 minutes. We had high hopes for this reel, but were nervous because of mixed reviews. My husband did have to do something with drilling bolts before use, but there are other reviews that explain this better. Overall, we are very satisfied with our purchase and would highly recommend it to other pool owners.

Having owned this product for only a few weeks, it does seem to be well-made and likely to endure over time. I opted not to use the support legs; instead, I hung the winder pole on "J" hooks over the pool. However, there are a couple of issues. Attaching the cover to the bungees was a bit challenging due to vague instructions and a less-than-clear picture. Additionally, there are some sharp and jagged edges on the tube ends. On a positive note, the handwheel is sufficiently large for easy winding, featuring soft grip sections. The 4-inch diameter shows minimal sag, and the assembly process was straightforward.
