A lot less expensive than "the other" guys. Good product so far.
I acquired the XtremepowerUS Pressure Side Pool Cleaner as a replacement for an outdated Polaris pressure side cleaner. Dealing with the frequent breakdowns of the Polaris became tiresome, and considering the high labor costs in my area, it was more economical for me to invest in a new cleaner. The package includes the 3-wheel pressure side cleaner, one sand and silt bag, one sweep tail hose, approximately 30 feet of feed hose, three swivel adapters, several floats, and the quick-release wall attachment with a filter.
Similar to other pressure side cleaners, this unit operates by channeling water into three directions: the sweeper tail, the drive mechanism, and the venturi. The sweeper tail, located at the back of the cleaner, lifts debris off the pool floor and provides gentle scrubbing. The drive mechanism propels the unit through the pool in a random pattern using water pressure, gears, and a series of ports, facilitated by the built-in back-up valve and the thrust jet at the back of the cleaner. The venturi effect, created through three ports on the bottom, sucks up leaves and debris into the catch bag as the unit moves around the pool. The built-in back-up valve periodically reverses the flow to alter the cleaning pattern and avoid potential obstacles.
It's important to note that this unit requires a booster pump. Adjusting the thrust jet to suit your pool and specific needs is recommended, and I personally suggest setting it to 11:00. However, others may find the 1:00 o'clock setting more suitable for their pool. Ensuring the hose length is appropriate for your pool is crucial. While reaching steps and loveseats may be challenging for most cleaners of this style, I typically address these areas with a brush or net regularly to maintain cleanliness.
Overall, this cleaner has performed admirably throughout the entire season, even in a heavily wooded area with numerous leaves. Opting for this affordable unit proved to be a more cost-effective solution compared to ongoing repairs for my old Polaris. While pricier options may be available for those with no budget constraints, this unit is a reliable choice for those primarily focused on achieving a clean pool.
I've owned two Polaris pool sweeps in the past, and this product performs at 95% of their effectiveness while being priced at half the cost. It suits my needs perfectly.
I've owned it for around two months, and it has been trouble-free. Performs excellently.
