Picture does not tell all

Well this looks to be a quality fitting but the description said 5/8"-18 RH Female which made me think I could use like a receptacle for a 5/8 UNF RH male gas fitting from an argon hose, but the female part is just the outer fitting and the inner is still the "male" gas nipple. I wished the picture could of showed it from the opening and not the hose barb.
