Purchased it for a backyard project, and it performs admirably. Easy to maneuver, not too heavy for this older individual. I'm proceeding at a comfortable pace, and I've already recouped my investment. Renting would have been prohibitively expensive.

Great little unit for DIY

Utilized the Stark USA 61023 plate compactor to complete a sizable decomposed granite patio. The unit performed excellently and was far more efficient than hand tamping. It likely saved me days of work. Starting it when it's cold does require some effort. Behind the choke lever is the governor, and you need to adjust that to get it going. Once it's warmed up, it's a breeze to use. I recommend it for medium-sized and larger jobs.
